Inspired by Nabokov, haiku: NaPoWriMo Day 23

Inspired by today’s Writer’s Almanac account of the life of Vladimir Nabokov.

The life Nabokov
dreamt of was of studious

the long proboscis,
under Nabokov’s view glass
seeking nectar’s truth

study butterflies
methodically if you like
they flutter and float

butterfly scales weigh
the moment between two times
what was and will be.

Studying butterflies always seemed like an interesting thing. I love seeing them on flowers or flying by.
